Hendrickson signs for $1.95 million

Left-hander Mark Hendrickson agreed to a $1.95 million, one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Monday, avoiding arbitration, The Associated Press reports.

Hendrickson has spent some summers in York County and is a former pitcher for York Township of the Susquehanna League.

The 6-foot-9 Hendrickson was 11-8 with a 5.90 ERA in 178 1-3 innings for Tampa Bay last season, when he made $377,500.
