GO PINK AND BLACK: Recent Penn State graduate Kate McGuinness of Springettsbury Township attended Monday’s pep rally at the Miami Convention Center wearing a pink and black Penn State T-shirt. Pink and black were the school’s -- often forgotten -- original team colors. McGuinness, 26, graduated from PSU in 2003 and now works as a manager at Wegmans grocery store in Hunt Valley, Md.
EVERY WHICH WAY: Senior tailback Leon Washington is the first player in Florida State history to score a touchdown in five different ways in his career. He has scored running the ball, receiving, returning a fumble and on kickoff and punt returns.
