OK, this entry doesn't really have anything to do with sports.
1. Don Knotts died Friday night of pulmonary and respiratory complications at a Los Angeles hospital
2. Darren McGavin died Saturday of natural causes at a Los Angeles-area hospital
If you grew up watching Disney movies in the 1970s (and, granted, the 1970s weren't exactly the most famous decade for Disney movies), then you surely remember "No Deposit, No Return," in which Knotts and McGavin play a pair of bungling burglars.
A sad coincidence, to lose both actors in the same two-day period. But we'll always have "No Deposit, No Return."
(Not to mention "The Natural," "A Christmas Story," "The Night Stalker," "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken," "Pleasantville" and, of course, that little show set in Mayberry.)
