Today's York Sunday News includes this story by Philadelphia Inquirer writer Don Steinberg on the baseball-card industry's tumble toward irrelevance. Although it might simply be too late, the industry and Major League Baseball are making some serious attempts to rebound this year by focusing on the demographic they never should have lost sight of -- kids.
We'd like to hear your thoughts about baseball cards.
What do you think of the state of the baseball-card industry in 2006? Is it still worthwhile to be a collector? Can the hobby be saved and focused back toward kids again?
And what are your favorite memories about baseball cards and collecting? What was your most cherished card? Do you still have it?
We want to hear your thoughts and stories.
E-mail them to Sports Editor Chris Otto.
