Interesting to nose around the Internet and see how others are reporting the Floyd Landis story and what they're saying....
-- ESPN.com has "Positively Stunning" as its banner headline on the main page. Their story is a pickup of the Associated Press article. And they already have a reader poll under way.
-- CBS Sportsline, interestingly, still has an article about the Philadelphia Eagles (with a picture of Jevon Kearse) as its lead story. A smaller headline above that, however, reads "Team Says Landis Failed Doping Test."
-- The Sports Illustrated Web site trumpets "Tour Drug Shocker" on its main page. They've simply picked up the Associated Press article, too.
-- Fox Sports has the headline "In Hot Water" on its main page. They have the Associated Press story, which is accompanied by links to all their previous Tour de France coverage.
-- MSNBC.com has booted the Middle East war to secondary status and leads with "Doping Stunner" and a picture of Floyd Landis across the top of the page.
-- CNN.com is wisely keeping the war as its lead story for the moment. "Tour de France winner fails drug test" is simply one of their "Latest News" items.
-- Finally, Drudge Report, never a Web site to stick with subtle story play, has a big picture of Landis with the headline "Tour de Dope."
