Jesse Smeltzer, Eastern York football: Smeltzer, a senior, rushed 25 times for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns in Eastern’s first win since 2004. Smeltzer also caught one pass for 8 yards, but it was his 35-yard touchdown run with 4:37 remaining in the game that, combined with Mike Kraft’s extra point, gave the Golden Knights a 14-13 win at Biglerville.

Cortni Rentzel, Northeastern girls' volleyball: The junior paced the undefeated Bobcats’ volleyball team to two wins last week. Rentzel had 36 assists in Northeastern’s 3-1 victory against Eastern York on Monday and followed with another 16 helpers in a 3-0 win over West York on Wednesday.
