Starting quarterback Anthony Morelli and backup Daryll Clark are being listed as “possible for Saturday’s game against Illinois, according to Penn State officials.
Both suffered mild concussions in the loss to Michigan.
Morelli, however, apparently is ready to go.
“He feels good, and he’s just waiting to hear what (Penn State medical officials) say, said his father, Greg Morelli.
Anthony Morelli underwent tests on Monday but did not know the results as of Monday evening.
“I asked him, ‘Do you think you’re going to play?’ his father said. “He said, ‘Yeah.’ He sounds like he’s going to play.
Morelli suffered a concussion during the third quarter of the Michigan game. He walked off the field a few minutes after the hit and later lobbied to be put back in the game.
Even if he is cleared to play on Saturday, he probably will not resume regular practice with the team until Wednesday, his father said.
Clark suffered his concussion when he was tackled hard on a running play in the middle of the fourth quarter. Third-string quarterback Paul Cianciolo finished the Michigan game and is being listed as a possible starter on the depth chart released by Penn State’s sports information office.
