Bring back the old NASCAR guys

| | Comments (0)

Robert Yates has lured Ricky Rudd out of retirement to drive a Nextel Cup car full-time in 2007.

He joins Dale Jarrett, Bill Elliott, Mark Martin and Ward Burton among the gray-haired veterans getting signed for major rides.

Remember when teens were the hottest thing in NASCAR — you had to sign the youngest guy? But when the kids couldn’t produce right away they got put out to pasture by 25.

And who do you turn to? The old, recycled grayhaired veterans. And why? Because the fans already
love them — and they know how to drive.
