Finally getting a shot to play

Steve Roach, a 6-foot-2, 310-pound Penn State defensive tackle, expects to see his most significant playing time of his career — in his final game.

Roach may even get his first career start in the Outback Bowl in place of Ed Johnson, who did not make the bowl trip after breaking an undisclosed team rule. He is expected to battle freshmen Chris Baker and Phil Taylor for playing time against Tennessee.
