The list of incoming coaches for the York Revolution reads like a game of “Which name does not belong?
Chris Hoiles: A franchise guy who was strong in the clutch. Tippy Martinez and Al Bumbry: Solid role players who carved out solid niches in Orioles lore.
And Ryan Minor: The guy who was supposed to be the Birds’ savior in the post-Cal era, only to swing a weak bat (.177 career) against a tide sweeping his team into a decade-long losing streak.
He’s now the Revolution’s hitting coach.
So we’re starting an office pool for this year’s team batting average. Any takers for .177?

This fellow Ryan Minor (RY MI to his teammates) is the nicest and most respected ex-player/coach in the Atlantic League.
In 2005, he was among the best= 27 homers, many clutch hits, while playing a CAL-like 3B for the Barnstormers.
He shows excellent skills in dealing with everyone [Yes-even umpires] and will be a true asset to OUR new REVOLUTION ballclub.
I am truly looking forward to this baseball in PA (I have seen approx 50-60) ex-major leaguers play in this league over the last 2 years. York will definitely like what they see!
