Sad day for baseball and players' union

| | Comments (0)

Most unions do a tremendous service for the community.

They fight for fair wages and fair treatment of workers — many of whom would have no protection against cost-cutting, profit-hungry millionaire bosses.

And then we have Major League Baseball’s players’ association.

What an embarrassment.

Word came this week that the players’ union will fight a decision to provide prosecutors with the identities of the Major Leaugers who tested positive for steroids in 2003.

It’s a sad day for a once great union.

The players’ association power has grown so much it is now going out of its way to protect the cheats and liars who have damaged the sport and also hurt the wage-earning ability of the rule-abiding members of its own union.
