Local fans should contact Phillies

| | Comments (1)

I’ve been a Phillies fan for over 40 years. After reading all the letters in the newspaper regarding the Phillies broadcasts ever since WOYK-AM 1350 announced dropping the Phillies, it appears that most of the criticism has been directed toward Comcast and WOYK.

Ultimately, it is the Philadelphia Phillies who decide who receives the broadcasts. Perhaps everyone should be directing their complaints to the Philadelphia Phillies instead of Comcast and WOYK.

If the Phillies want the thousands of York Phillies fans to be able to hear and see the games, it will happen.

Comcast, isn't it time for you to do what's right and give starving Phillie fans what they want? Again, what is the justification for not broadcasting the games of a professional baseball team that is less than 100 miles away? York Phillie fans deserve the opportunity to watch their players on a regular basis. Comcast, if you believe there aren't that many Phillie fans to warrant this addition, why not take a poll or offer the Phillies as an additional channel like you do with HBO, Starz, Cinemax, etc.?
