Penn State All-America linebacker Paul Posluszny is among the finalists for the Dapper Dan Charities Sportsman of the Year.
Penn State fans have until Jan. 30 to vote for the Nittany Lions' all-time tackle leader.
Posluszny is the only student-athlete among the six finalists. The winner will be announced on Feb. 4 and honored at the 71st annual Dapper Dan Dinner & Sports Auction on April 15.
Fans can vote online for Posluszny until noon on Jan. 30 at www.post-gazette.com/dapperdan.
The other candidates: West Virginia basketball coach John Beilein, Pittsburgh Penguin Sidney Crosby, Pitt basketball coach Jamie Dixon, Pittsburgh Steeler Willie Parker, Pittsburgh Pirate Freddy Sanchez and West Virginia football coach Rich Rodriguez.
Penn State coach Joe Paterno is a two-time recipient of the Sportsman of the Year and a member of the Dapper Dan Pittsburgh Hall of Fame.
Former Lady Lion basketball standouts Suzie McConnell-Serio (1999) and Kelly Mazzante (2003) have been selected the Dapper Dan Sportswoman of the Year.
