With the start of the District 3 wrestling championships on Friday at Hersheypark Arena, Bermudian Springs wrestlers are in their fourth consecutive weekend of postseason wrestling.
It started with the District 3 Team Wrestling Championship, where the Eagles finished second. That qualified the squad for the state team championships the next weekend.
That led right into last weekend’s Class AA Section I tournament, which Bermudian won by 71.5 points.
According Eagles head coach Dave McCollum, a major part of his team’s sectional success came from the previous weekend’s PIAA Team Wrestling Championships.
“Being as competitive at the state team tournament and getting that experience brought the expectations of the team up,” he said. “Wrestling that level of competition was the best practice we could get.
The guys are really pumped up and ready to go.”
