More on Butch Wynegar

In case you missed it, here is the full article on Butch Wynegar's new job in the New York Yankees' minor-league system. It includes some trivia at the bottom. Wynegar fans, of course, already know that he caught Dave Righetti's no-hitter. (Here's one fascinating fact that I did not know. The Yankees' starting third baseman on the day that Righetti pitched his no-hitter was 41-year-old Dagoberto "Bert" Campaneris. The old guy batted leadoff that day, in front of Don Mattingly, and had a pair of hits!)

Speaking of fun baseball connections, and getting back to Wynegar, you'll also want to check out Jim McClure's blog entry on the connection between Wynegar, Stan Musial and Hinkey Haines.
