College football is in the air

| | Comments (0)

It’s football season again.

And if you closely follow some college powerhouse like Penn State, Web sites devoted to the team breathlessly pour out stories and progress reports on players in March and April.

Nearly six months before the season starts.

A running back looks good in practice! An offensive lineman moves to defense!

What does it all mean?

Not much, really, unless it is the dreaded type of news: Injuries, academic problems, personal mishaps.

Sometimes, a quiet spring is the best kind.
