So, it turns out that both Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonioni, two of Europe's greatest film directors, BOTH died on Monday.
The American sports world equivalent to that? Imagine a hypothetical situation in which, say, Bill Walsh and Vince Lombardi died on the same day. Or perhaps Bill Walsh and Bear Bryant.
Anyway, this post isn't really about sports. Bergman and Antonioni and are gone now after long, full lives. But their films, if you haven't ever heard of them or had a chance to see them, will endure and can always be rediscovered.
