If you're planning to get the rod and reel out this week or weekend, here are some tips compiled by correspondent Ted Sizemore:

Stripers/hybrids can be found at Holtwood Tailrace and Conowingo Dam. Use Storm Wildeyes and live large shiners off the bottom.

Largemouth bass are plentiful at Pinchot Lake and Peach Bottom. Try using flukes, Powerworms (purple) and deep-diving cranks worked slowly.

Smallmouth bass can be found in the Juniata River and around the Wrightsville area. Use tubes and twisters. Weed beds and mouths of creeks are good summer haunts for smallmouth bass.

Catfish may be found at Liberty Reservoir, Long Level and Peach Bottom. Some anglers are using cut bait of some sort, but chicken livers will still produce fish.

Tuna are hot right now in Ocean City, Md., and Virginia Beach, Va. Some large yellowfin tuna are being caugh, so if you have the time, head south for fantastic fishing.
