PSU names football captains

| | Comments (0)

All-America linebacker Dan Connor, starting quarterback Anthony Morelli and backup wide receiver Terrell Golden — all seniors — have been named as Penn State football team captains for 2007.

Connor is a preseason candidate for several national defensive awards and is only 98 tackles away from breaking Paul Posluszny’s school record for career tackles.

Morelli led the Lions to a 5-1 record down the stretch last season while setting school single-season records for pass completions (208) and attempts (386).

Golden, the only senior in the team’s deep receiving corps, earned the award as the most improved player on offense during spring practice.
