Here come the Phillies, Flyers and 76ers....

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, a channel long-desired by many York County sports fans, will make its local debut on Dec. 30, Comcast announced this morning in a newspaper advertisement.

"Comcast is pleased to announce the addition of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia to your York Channel Lineup!" the advertisement stated.

The sports channel will be added to Expanded Basic channel 34, according to the advertisement.

Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia broadcasts the Comcast-owned Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers, along with the defending National League East champion Philadelphia Phillies. In addition, it carries some games of the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms and some Philadelphia-area college sports.

The addition of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia should be especially gratifying for York County Phillies fans, who have long clamored for the channel since Comcast agreed to buy SusCom as part of a $775 million deal in 2005.

Phillies fans just went through a 2007 season in which the team had no radio affiliate in York County and in which few of the team's games appeared on local cable.
