Albright College sophomore right-hander Casey Lawrence, a Delone Catholic High School graduate, has been named the Commonwealth Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 23.
Lawrence was 1-0 with a no decision in two starts for the Lions last week in Orlando, Fla.
On Sunday he allowed two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of work in a no-decision against Endicott. Lawrence allowed seven hits, walked two, and struck out five.
On Friday, he fired a complete-game, six-hit shutout at St. Joseph's of Long Island. Lawrence allowed only six hits and didn't walk a batter while striking out 10 hitters in collecting his second career shutout.
For the week he turned in an ERA of 1.28 while striking out 15 in 14 1/3 innings of work.
