'If you've had a run-in with an unexplained entity...'

This article on strange phenomena in Derry Township, originally published in Friday's Blairsville Dispatch, is a hoot.

Most of it concerns Stan Gordon, who is "a Greensburg resident who has specialized in researching unexplained happenings in Pennsylvania and beyond since 1959."

Some gems from the article by Jeff Himler:

--- Last year, Gordon notes he received reports of possible Bigfoot activity from various locations in Westmoreland County. Himler's article delves into many of the details and investigations of these "sightings." (Also, in a related note, see this blog entry)

--- Gordon also takes interest in reports of unidentified flying objects. He continues to pursue his own independent investigation of the well-known crash of what has been termed a UFO on Dec. 9. 1965, near Kecksburg, south of Latrobe.

The article, and Gordon's accounts, are full of tall, man-like creatures, unusual footprints, strange lights and giant birds. Check it out.

And, of course, if you ever happen upon a yeti or space alien in York County, be sure to drop me a line. We can't let western Pennsylvania have all the fun, can we?
