Clemens pitcher of week

It was quite a week for Central York grad Andrew Clemens

The Millersville University junior notched two wins and two saves leading the Marauders to a 5-1 record for the week that ended Sunday.

For his efforts, Clemens was named the PSAC Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week last week.

During the week in which Millersville tied West Chester for the division lead, Clemens threw seven and a third innings and did not allow an earned run. He also struck out six while walking just one.

In fact on Tuesday, April 15 he saved the first game of a home doubleheader against Lock Haven, then started and got the win in the nightcap.

Three days later, he saved the first game versus Mansfield and got a win in extra innings of Game 2, this time in relief.

Clemens is 3-3 on the season with a 5.03 ERA in 19 appearances and three starts. His four saves are a team high. He has struck out 23 batters in 34 innings.
