College honor for former Rocket
University of Delaware sophomore track and field standout Chase Renoll , a Spring Grove graduate, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for April 21.
Renoll led the Blue Hens men's outdoor track and field squad to a fourth place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships last week at the College of William & Mary.
Renoll was one of two Delaware athletes to capture an individual event as he threw the shot put a season-best 49 feet, 11 inches to win the title and earn an automatic berth into the NCAA East Regionals May 30-31 at Florida State. Renoll beat runner-up and teammate John Viotto by eight inches.
Earlier in the meet, Renoll placed 10th in the discus with a toss of 130 feet, 4 inches.
