Heyne again
For the second time in as many weeks, Susquehannock High School graduate and Rider University third baseman Mason Heyne was named the Metro Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.
In five games last week Heyne hit .333 (6-for-18), scored seven runs and drove in six. His slugging percentage for the week was .722.
In Rider's doubleheader against MAAC foe Niagara, Heyne hit a home run in the ninth inning that tied the game in what would become a 3-2 win for the Broncs. In the second game he went deep again, giving him five round trippers on the season, and was 3-for-3 in a 9-3 victory.
He also drove in all three runs in Rider's 3-2 win over Long Island University. His slugging percentage in MAAC play last week was an astounding 1.111.
Heyne is now hitting .356 on this season for the (24-16) Division I Broncs.
