Our Take on U.S. Open

The U.S. Open playoff battle between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate was compelling theatre to say the least.
Here was the No. 1 player in the world — likely the best of all time going against a 45-year-old player, who played in relative obscurity before the Open.

It was the ultra-competitor with 13 career major wins against the ultimate nice guy with none.
I usually root in amazement for Woods to continue his assault on the record books in these situations, but it was really hard to root against Mediate.
While Woods ended up winning the tournament, those of us watching were big winners too.
