Former Lions find new homes

| | Comments (0)

Two former Nittany Lions who recently left the team have apparently found new football homes.

Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Josh Marks is reportedly enrolling at Pitt. Coach Joe Paterno announced last Friday that Marks had left the team for undisclosed reasons. He was expected to battle for a key backup spot this fall.

And redshirt junior defensive tackle Phil Taylor will enroll at Baylor University in Texas, following former Penn State assistant and new Baylor defensive coordinator Brian Norwood, according to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Taylor, who was suspended from Penn State for the summer, was expected to challenge for a starting spot once he returned to the team during preseason practice. But he and teammate Chris Baker -- both of whom had been in trouble for their alleged involvement in fights -- were booted from the team in the past two weeks.

Baker will play for Division I-AA Hampton in Virginia.
