ESPN The Magazine has declared that Penn State owns the best football student section in the nation.

In the categories that determine the overall winner, Penn State ranked No. 1 for "most fun," No. 2 for "most creative" and No. 4 for "loudest."

Penn State's 21,000-body student section has been called the largest in college sports.

ESPN College Gameday named Penn State as the best student section during the 2005 season.

This is what ESPN/ABC college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit had to say:

"The coordination is off the charts. I know the Cameron Crazies get a lot of pub, but, what's that, a thousand kids? At Penn State we're talking about 20 times that, all on the same page for every situation on the field. That's nuts.

"They raise the bar every year. Between the White Out and the music they pump in, it's a festival atmosphere."

Said ESPN's Beano Cook: "If you aren't impressed with the White Out, you're probably one of those peole who think the moon landing was faked."
