JoePa watched the Lions from the press box after halftime.
Joe Paterno gave little information Saturday when asked, once again, about the status of starting defensive linemen Maurice Evans and Abe Koroma. The two have missed three-straight games after police found a small amount of marijuana in the apartment registered to them.
"Do you know what they were charged with?" Paterno asked a reporter with some sarcasm and to make a point. "A misdemeanor.
"We'll see what happens. I don't know what's going to happen. The ball's not in my court right now, OK?"
Slowed momentarily: Saturday marked the first time Penn State was held scoreless in the first quarter this season.
But the Lions did end up with 45, giving them 211 points in the first four games, the most in the program's 122 years. The 1994 team scored 210 in its first four games.
Point-O-Rama: The Lions have scored 40 or more points in four consecutive games for just the second time under Paterno, the first since the middle of the 1973 season.
But wait, there's more: The 31 second-quarter points were PSU's most in a quarter since scoring 31 in the third vs. Indiana in 2003.
Quite a day: Tailback Stephfon Green earned the first 100-yard rushing day of his career, gaining 132 on only nine carries. His 69-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter was not only the longest of his career but also was Penn State's longest play from scrimmage this season.
First-timers: Receivers Brett Brackett and Graham Zug made their first career touchdown catches.
Brackett hauled in a 20-yard pass from Clark just 33 seconds into the second quarter for the game's first points. And Zug, the former walk-on from Manheim Central High School, grabbed a 17-yard strike from Clark with 4:35 to go before halftime.
Take that shirt off: True freshman D'Anton Lynn saw his first action of the season as a gunner on the punt team, breaking his possible redshirt season. Lynn is arguably the team's most promising young defensive back.
Ties that bind: Temple freshman kicker/punter Russell Nye is the son of Penn State men's golf coach Greg Nye.
