From Sue Ruby in York: In Saturday morning's sports section there were pictures on the front page and also inside of William Penn's football game which was played on Friday. They lost to Bishop McDevitt. West York football WON their game on Friday night against Conrad Weiser and you only had one article about their game. Why does West York never get any recognition when their sports are played? West York fans do not believe the treatment the team receives from your newspaper. Could someone explain this to me?
Chad Creasy from Central York: You should be ashamed of the lack of coverage for the astonishing show put on by Brandon Real last night. You have 10 photos in today's newspaper all of teams that bowed out of the district 3 playoffs, and ZERO of West York. The only winner. How does this happen? This performance will go down as the single most dominating performance this county has ever seen. I don't care about his size, and his lack of recruitment by colleges. Turn on the video, and look at what this kid is doing this season. His performance last night was not against another YAIAA cupcake. TUNE IN, AND START RECOGNIZING someone other than CENTRAL OR YORK HIGH!!!
The truth is, Conrad Weiser was not a worthy opponent, nor do they have the talent of a Bishop McDevitt...who currently have 5-6 D1 prospects on their roster. So I'm assuming, the newspaper believed William Penn and Central York games would be more exciting! Now, if they had known B-Real was going to do his thing, they would of been all over the West York game. Honestly, how many of us...have heard of Conrad Weiser...until now? I do agree, they should have been covering all of the games heavily, but I guess they have better things to do!
What a terrible thing to say!!!!! For one, I have heard of Conrad Weiser and you saying they weren't a worthy opponent is terrible. I think any school that makes it to districts are worthy especially when they make it this far. I have nothing against the bigger schools but why not give credit where credit is do. West York has played some bigger schools and have won so give them a little credit. Put your mind in motion before your keyboard.
I believe the reason there was no coverage is the same reason why there is no coverage in all college football games. Division I gets all of the coverage Division I-AA gets very little coverage. William Penn and Central are both AAAA schools while West York is AAA. No one never takes as much notice to the smaller schools. As a William Penn fan who attended every game, driving from Delaware every weekend, I will be in York tonight to watch West York and Brandon Real. In fact there will probably be a hundred or so York High fans there to watch also, the same as they attended the Central / Harrisburg game supporting Central. One thing I notice on these blogs are a number of parents and Alumni complaining about other schools coverage when it is really about the kids. The ones that complain can learn something from the kids, because when they are out away from the game they support one another tremendously and we all should be the same way. Instead of complaining invite the surrounding areas to attend the game, which I am sure most of them will be doing. Support York's only remaining team in Districts, I know Bearcat fans are.
Bulldog fan...I'm not against West York or any other YAIAA team. The truth is, until recent years, a team that went 7-3, had no chance to make the playoffs! Well, at least in the 90's they didn't. William Penn for instance, had a one loss season, and failed to make the district playoffs! There's no way, Brandon Real should have scored 6x's in a district playoff game. I'm not complaining, I was happy to be there to witness it...he's amazing! The truth is...until any YAIAA team wins a district title and make it deep into the (AAA or AAAA)State Championships...why give credit...to what...losing? Manheim Central has been doing it, year-in and year-out! You'll see that Conrad Weiser was not a worthy opponent on Friday at West York. Garden Spot loss to Manheim Central and I believe 3 Quad A teams. I hope West York wins, and if they do, their run will be over for sure next week...watch! Mechanicsburg or Manheim Central...do you understand what that means?
You call yourself a coach and would say something yhis stupid? What's the matter-Not good enough for Coach Miller's staff? Conrad Weiser(AAA) played Govern Mifflin(AAAA) head to head this year and who won? That's right, Govern Mifflin, the same team that just swatted Central(AAAA) out of the playoffs. Your problem is, you think AAAA or AAA or AA orA is a talent class, all it is is the student body size! What you can't stand is that little ole WY undermanned by 20-30 players are competative with you but are also beating you. You can't stand, what coach Miller and his staff have done for WY football in just 3 years, every year going deeper into districts. You should be proud, because York County now has a program that will be competative in district 3 football. You can't stand that WY will be carrying the banner for York county and not YOU! WY football is only going to get stronger because all them young boys you see running around at the football games are seeing what coach Miller and his staff are building at WY and are going to want to be a part of it. The fan line at the end of the games and the excitement of district 3 football will trickle the whole way down through the boys club. So get used to it York County, WY football is only going to get better. What coach Miller and his staff at WY is going to be something special! GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!

Your problem is your JEALOUS of what coach Miller and his staff have done for WY football in just 3 years. You can't STAND that little ole WY(AAA) undermanned by 20-30 players are not only competative with AAAA teams, but their beating them as well. You can't STAND that York County now has a program that can not only be competative in district football but also put a whipping on somebody. You can't STAND that it's WY and not you. WY football is only going to get stronger under coach Miller. Well get over it, what WY is building is going to be SPECIAL. All those little boys you see running around the football games are seeing what these high school boys are going through and will want to be part of it as well. The excitement of district 3 football and the fan line at the end of the game will trickle all the way down to the boys club. GO BULLDOGS- WERE PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!!!
