The NCAA Division II field hockey semifinal will not only have a regional feel, but a local one as well when Shippensburg travels to PSAC rival Bloomsburg to take on the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Bloomsburg (21-1) is currently ranked No. 1 and will also host the other Final Four semi between Bentley and UMass-Lowell. The winners will play for the national title Sunday afternoon at 1.

Dallastown grad Amanda Strous, pictured above blocking a shot during her playing days for the Wildcats, is a sophomore forward for Ship (18-4). She is joined on the Red Raiders by Mariah Wooters, a New Oxford alum.
Strous has appeared in 18 games with four starts, has three goals and two assists. Wooters, a junior defender, has a pair of scores and two assists in 22 games, three starts.
A familiar face will be on the other sideline as Aubrey Carmen, a former teammate of Strous at Dallastown, is a junior mid for Bloom.
Carmen has chipped in one goal in 20 games (eight starts) for the Huskies.
Also, please note the comment from Steve Feldmann in the previous College Spotlight post. His daughter, Diana Feldmann, a 2008 Central York grad, started all 22 games for Moravian College, which will play The College of New Jersey on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament. Thanks for the update Steve.
