Caroline Sweitzer of York checks in with the following criticism of Saturday's York Daily Record sports section:
I was at the West York-Conrad Weiser game on Friday night and saw how hard the West York team and fans played and cheered for the only team advancing to the semifinals in our area.
When I saw the sports section in Saturday's York Daily Record, I couldn't believe it! Not one picture of the West York players! Five of William Penn, two of Central York and three of Middletown and Delone Catholic.
Yes, I did see the nice columns written about the West York players, but a few pictures would've been nice to congratulate them for all their hard work. Especially since they were the only local team to advance to the district semifinals.

when it comes to YAIAA or PIAA football, quad A is where the news is. Although WY has had a good season, look where the wins came from. Look at the major television networks.......why are only Division 1 NCAA games televised and get all the attention? NCAA Division II and III offers less competition. The same goes for WY playing in YAIAA Division II and being a AAA school. Want more coverage and recognition? Move the school up to YAIAA Division 1 and quad A football!!!!
Don't compare high school sports to college sports, Delone Catholic is a Division III school but received coverage. I don't think it has anything to do with being a Division I school. I went to West York and my children went to West York and it has always been this way. Don't make excuses why the paper chose those three schools we just need to deal with it and accept it. West York has a great following and tons of pride. I now live in the Harrisburg area but didn't miss one West York football game. I am so proud of my West York Bulldogs......
Conrad Weiser beat Govern Mifflin in a head to head game this year. This is the same Govern Mifflin team that STOMPED Central out of the playoffs.
