Locals great in pool for York College

A pair of local swimmers have helped the York College men's team to an awesome 8-1 start to the season.

Clark Arnold of Northeastern and Dover alum Richard Janosky (pictured below competing at their respective high schools) have been solid contributors for the Spartans, who recently captured a tri-meet against always tough Salisbury and Goucher College.

Arnold, a junior, even smashed a pool record in the 100 butterfly during a dual meet victory over Capital Athletic Conference foe St. Mary's.

Janosky, the 6-foot-5 son of Dover coach Rich Janosky, has been very good as well during his freshman campaign.

He is usually scores in his individual races, but really stands out in the 200 free relay, which has earned victories this season.

On the women's side of the pool Spring Grove grad Molly Wasik (above) is having another terrific season for York.

The junior has been a consistent winner as a part of the 200 medley relay and has been stellar while earning several victories in both the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.

In fact, Wasik earned the Spartan women's (5-5) only individual win in the tri-meet against Salisbury when she captured the IM.

Other locals swimming at York College include Dallastown alum Kayla Smith, Red Lion resident (Mountainview International grad) Hannah Bell, Susquehannock's Patrick Benecewicz and Stephen Doemland of Red Land.
