Following her outstanding freshman season in which she was named PSAC East Rookie of the Year, Megan Stewart is having another fine campaign at West Chester University.
The 2007 York Catholic grad leads the Rams' regulars in several categories, including minutes per game with 33.3, assists, 3-point shots attempted, made and 3-point field goal and free throw percentage.
Stewart, seen above driving to the basket in York Catholic's District 3 Class AA title winning game over Trinity, has started in all 21 of West Chester (15-6) games and is shooting .388 (38-of-98) from beyond the arc. She really excels at the charity stripe, where she drops 81.1 percent (43-of-53) of her free throws.
She also leads the Rams with 74 assists and despite guarding bigger players much of the time, Stewart has 48 steals to her credit. This is one year after leading the PSAC in assist-to-turnover ratio.
The former Irish standout, who was a part of two PIAA Class AA championships, is also a standout in the classroom. Studying pre-med, she is on both the West Chester athletics academic honor roll and well as the PSAC academic honor roll.
