If you're looking for the biggest difference between William Penn's play in the PIAA Class AAAA tournament compared with, just keep your eye on No. 21.

The uniform is worn by sophomore Kelvin Parker, who has been William Penn's best defensive player all season but has nearly doubled his season scoring average with a state tournament output of about 19 points per game.

"Kelvin Paker has been the X-factor during this state run," Sowers said. "He has just attacked the basket."

Some of the same characteristics that make Parker so tough to face on defense has allowed him to step up when his team has the ball.

Parker is able to control his body incredibly well, which helps him maintain position in front of defenders and make stops without fouling. Lately, that control has helped him get to the hoop quickly and in position to take high-percentage shots.

The sophomore also has a ton of confidence on defense, saying that he is always eager to face the most prolific scorer the opposition has to offer. Recently, he has shown that kind of confidence with his outside shot and has developed into another dangerous weapon on the perimeter for the Bearcats.

He is the youngest player in the starting lineup for the Bearcats, but as Sowers' "X-factor," Parker could hold the key to victory tonight.
