On New Year’s eve, we made a list. Last year, Andy and I made a list, too. Saturday night, we opened the sheet of paper marked with 2011′s goals and reflected on what we had and had not accomplished. Then we made a plan of our hopes for 2012. It included building a savings and paying off debt, two goals on our list last year. But it also included moving in together and saying “I do.”
Making goals together, not necessarily personal resolutions, is something I’m looking forward to doing every year with him. Yes, it’s disappointing when we don’t accomplish something. But it’s also rewarding when we can cross something off the list. Writing the list together means we’re holding each other to what we write.
What’s a tradition that you have with your significant other? Did you make goals together for 2012?
Wedding show update: Sunday is Wedding Wonderland at York Expo Center. The show is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.
Jan. 15 is the Best Wedding Showcase at Lancaster Host Resort. From noon to 4 p.m., check out the vendors and enter to win prizes. Admission is $5 to benefit local charity.

We also make lists! Ours is less practical and includes places we want to visit and new restaurants we want to try out. Crossing of “Visit Disney World” this past weekend was a big one!
Check out 20 New Year’s resolutions for 20-somethings. Some of these made me laugh, but some are so necessary…

I can’t wait to hear more about your trip, April! Please tell me you’re going to blog about it at some point? I want more pictures of the Minnie Mouse ears! It sounds like it was an awesome place to ring in 2012. And Erin, I love some of those resolutions, especially No. 1. A lot of 20-somethings could use that advice (including myself). Thanks for sharing!
