The one chore I absolutely hate

Daily Record/Sunday News — File

I’m kind of a neat freak. And by “kind of,” I mean I can’t leave the house if the dishes aren’t done (normally by hand).

I make my bed the minute I get out of it. I clean the bathroom at least once a week. And I vacuum the floors that often.

I don’t mind cleaning, actually it makes me feel better sometimes.

Everyone’s got their one chore the hate doing. For some, it’s dusting. Others, it’s the bathroom. (I’ve cleaned some pretty bad toilets working at a camp and a fast food restaurant so that takes a lot to get me.)

For me, it’s ironing. I can’t stand ironing.

Maybe it’s because I never realize I need to iron until I’m getting dressed and walking out the door so it’s always done in a panicked rush. Maybe it’s because it makes me mad that it’s just going to need to be ironed the next time, too.

Who knows. Either way, I should hire someone to do my ironing. Or maybe I can train myself to iron right after I dry things so I don’t have to hurry through it annoyed.

What’s your least favorite chore?

You and I are opposites. Ironing is the only chore I enjoy. I do it almost every day and I find it therapeutic. That probably makes me really weird.
