Snap selfies for swag at the PIAA volleyball championships

The GameTimePA team is gearing up for a PIAA boys’ volleyball championship match doubleheader on Saturday. We’ll be hunkered down all day at Penn State’s Rec Hall for Northeastern’s Class AA title game against Ambridge at 11 a.m., followed by Central York’s Class AAA title game against North Allegheny.

I, for one, am really excited. My cohorts — reporters Matt Goul and Steve Navaroli, and photographer Kate Penn — are old pros when it comes to these things. But it’ll be my first time witnessing the state championship action first-hand.

So I’d like to have a little bit of fun in between the bumps, sets and spikes. Fun in the form of selfies.

We’ve gotten a kick out of how much our GTPA readers have embraced Matt and Steve. And I do mean you’ve literally embraced them:

And while the selfie is entertaining, our readers have also started documenting Matt and Steve while they’re documenting local sports. Which we find hilarious.

So here’s the deal. If you’re going to State College on Saturday, post a #SelfiesWithGameTime photo of Matt or Steve and stop by the GTPA table to pick up a prize.

We’ll be handing out some snazzy new swag — some super cool mini cleaning buffers for your cellphone, and some GameTimePA foam fingers — while supplies last. Bonus points will be awarded for creativity, and we’ll collect our favorites in a future blog post.

More bonus points if you follow @GameTimePA_SC on Instagram.

Don’t forget to tag your tweets with #PIAAvb to add them to our live blog.

See you at the championship games!
