Culture and Main, episodes 1-4

Last week, I blogged about Culture & Main, Carla Christopher’s TV arts showcase on the White Rose Community Television channel in our region.

This week, I thought I’d play catch up and link to the White Rose TV YouTube channel, where Carla archives each episode of the weekly show within a few days of its original air date. Below are the first four episodes for you to check out.

Beginning next week, I’ll post the video from the previous week’s episode. That way, those not in the area, or those who don’t get the White Rose channel, can still see each episode. Incidentally, you can also stream the episodes during the broadcasts at

Episode 1 (original air date 1/31/13) features “Poetry Spoken Here” host, poet, Keith Baughman / Fantasmagoria owner and King’s Courtyard Collective member artist, Christine DeJuliis / poetic ambient music group “These Seeds” with Dustin Nispel & Bobby Yagodich:

Episode 2 (original airdate 2/13/13) features Poet Laureate Emeritus of York, Carol Clark Williams / rock band, “Road Trip” with Scott Kleynen & Ivan Flanscha / educator & cultural activist, Cal Weary:

Episode 3 (original airdate 2/20/13) features spoken word poet, SuNn / Poetry@Parliament host, poet, Missi McLaren / abstract artist & experimental instrumentalist, Eric DeAlmeida:

Episode 4 (original airdate 2/27/13) features spoken word artist and Poet Laureate of York City School District, Jerald “Conscious” Proctor / poets and oil painters, Crystal Charisse & Lori Rosengrant / guitarist, Jerry Morris:

That’s four hours worth of awesome right there. Enjoy, and tune in at 7 p.m. Wednesdays to WRCT Ch. 18!

What’s your favorite Culture & Main episode or guest to date? Is there anyone you’d like to see on the show?
