Purging is good

| | Comments (0)

One of the measures I'm taking to get my diet back on track involved delving deep into my cabinets, and eliminating the fatty foods there.

My reasoning - if it's not in the house, I can't eat it (That is, unless I go out to pick it up. . . )

While in the cabinets, I figured I should also purge the things that had stayed past their welcome, and expiration dates.

All I can say is - WOW.

I found a number of relics, and ended up filling up an entire trash bag.

A sampling:

Green beans from 2004
Bread crumbs from 2002
Chili from 2003
Noodles from 2001, 2002, and 2003
Instant potatoes from 2001

How, you ask, did these old products get to stay in my cabinets for so long?

Good question.

Mostly, it's because I have a thing for really old products.

Ok, I don't have a thing for old products. I'm being silly.

I think it's because they're things I look at every day, but don't really use.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I should probably clean out the cabinets more often.

With the cabinets free of old and fattening foods, they were ready to receive the new and healthy food I purchased at the grocery story Saturday night.

Yes, your hip blog host was partying down at the grocery store on a Saturday night.

I am soooooo cool.
