My closet rocks

My new year's resolutions include several things, such as:

1. Go on vacation to exotic locale

2. Have erotic fling while at said locale

3. Lose those pesky 25 (ok, 55) pounds

4. Be a better sister, daughter, aunt, friend, lover, worker, reporter and writer

5. Get organized

I decided to hit the ground running with the resolutions, and tackled one of my biggest organizational "problems" - my closet

Don't get me wrong - having a small room as a walk-in closet is any fashion diva's dream.

I've enjoyed filling it. However, I did not enjoy the clutter, and never being able to find anything.

For the last two years, I've looked at the closet and said, "I'll get to it."

Monday, I did.

First, I needed a plan.

I needed things to look neat, but to also be accessible and easy to find.

I wanted it to be coordinated, and look uniform. (I'm still working on the clothes hanging up, so just ignore them.)

To help accomplish my goals, I went to All-Mart and my favorite store, Target.

It took me roughly all day and four or more trips to the store to complete, but I got it done.

You can now see the floor in my closet:

I got some of those handy, plastic drawers to hold socks and other garments (That's Mo, my cat, checking out the new closet.):

I used plastic bins to make the metal square organizer look neater, and hold more clothing:

I used the white racks and small clear containers to hold my shoes and shoe boxes, to try to get them off the floor:

The renovation took some time, but it's worth it. I can not only see the floor, but I can find stuff.

It cost less than $100 to complete, and helped me get closer to completing one of my resolutions.

Now, on to the important one - that vacation and the affair. . . . (smile)

I like what you did; and am inspired to try to improve my own closet the same way. Thanks.

I like the pic with kitty checkin it out -- probably looking for a cozy place to nap! :)
