I almost gave up

I'm sick.

No, not mentally, though some would argue that point, but physically.

I have strep throat, and a double ear infection.

Yeah!

I feel like dirt, or worse, if you can imagine.

When I'm sick, I like comfort food such as creamy soups, hearty breads and marshmellow-filled hot chocolate.

You know, things to warm my tummy and help me feel better.

But I'm on a diet.

And though the SutriSystem food has been tasty, its no where near comfort food.

I was ready to throw in the towel.

With a sore, scratchy throat and disappointing weight loss the first week, I was ready to eat some fried chicken and say the hell with SutriSystem.

I was soooooo close.

I could almost taste the delicious, deep-fried goodness of some KFC, complete with potato wedges and a big, REGULAR, pepsi.

I went to get my car keys, because I was going to get something REAL to eat.

Screw that damn diet.

But I changed my mind.

I knew that I'd only be cheating myself, as I'd done so many times before, by cheating on my diet. I knew the unhappiness I'd feel after eating would not be worth the short high of eating junk food.

So, I didn't do it.

I stayed at home, ate right and drank lots of tea, which is included in my plan.

I skipped the salads, though. I just couldn't choke them down with a sore throat.

I did, however, have 10 buttery townhouse crackers. They're not on my diet plan, but they are something I eat when I'm sick, and they were comforting.

We're still in the game, dear readers.

It's hard to eat right when you're sick, but you stuck to your diet anyway. good job kiddo! Pat yourself on the back and keep up the good work.
