Miley's missteps
By now, you've seen or heard something about the controversial photos of teen star Miley Ray Cyrus.
If not, here's the dish:
Miley, 15, otherwise known as the pop music and Disney television show star Hannah Montana, recently had a photo shoot with Vanity Fair and photography great Annie Leibovitz.
Both Miley's parents, creepy dad Billy Ray Cyrus, and her mother, whatshername, were at the shoot, and approved the photos.
However, when the naked photo from the shoot, with Miley draped only in a sheet came out, all heck broke loose.
Miley said Leibovitz's shots "embarassed" her. Leibovitz said the portrait was approved by Miley and her parents, and that it is art.
Here's one of the many stories on the controversy.
What made me mad about the whole deal was the following quote from Disney about the whole thing:
"Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines," a network statement said.
What?!?!?!
Are they serious?
So let me get this straight - Miley and her parents are at the photo shoot. They decide to let little Miley do a provacative photo, and its the magazine and the photographer's fault?
I'm sure the family's upset about the firestorm that came after the photos were released, including posts calling young Miley a "slut" on perezhilton.com.
Usually I agree with this catty gay blogger, but I think he takes it a little bit too far.
Other stories compared Miley to Britney Spears, and wondered if she'd be the next one to fall from grace.
Britney Spears made being slutty sexy an artform. How dare they pick on her! (Teeheehee)
Miley is a superstar, but she's still only 15. As this MTV columnist says, she's not the first pop star to do this type of thing.
Also, it could be that she just had a lapse in judgement.
Mostly, I blame her parents, who were at the shoot and who approved the photos.
They had a responsibilty to make sure the photo shoot kept with Miley's nice-girl image.
After Lindsey, Britney, Christina. . . (the list goes on and on),Billy Ray and whatshername (seriously, does anyone know her mother's name?) should've known better.
And how do they explain these racy photos that were out before the now-infamous Vanity Fair photo?
Any thoughts, guys?

I myself am SICK of hearing
about this Hollywood trash.
Britney Spears
Madonna
And the one who just died.
And now we have little Miley!

The article that accompanied said photos, "Miley Knows Best," was even harder for me to stomach. Miley gushed about "Sex and the City" and even compared it to "Hannah Montana." She looks and sounds like the next Brit to me. Miley knows nothing.

Miley is only 15. Yes, nothing was showing and I have seen prom dresses that show more; BUT SHE IS 15! There are pedifiles everywhere and her draped shot is too much. Her parents should have protected her, no amount of money is worth the hell this child will go through in coming weeks.
