Officials at the L.A. Police Department are trying to figure out who leaked photos that allegedly show Rihanna.
The gossip Web site, www.tmz.com, posted the photo Thursday night.
That is sooooo not cool. I know people are curious, but abuse victims usually are afforded some privacy, and photos of their bruised and beaten faces are not used in publications.
Most legitimate news organizations, mine included, would probably opt not to show the photos. I understand Rihanna is a star, but I just think it's in poor taste. My fellow blogger, and resident cool entertainment diva, Erin, takes publications who are now using the photo to task in this blog post.
And because Rihanna is a star, this photo is everywhere now. I feel for her.
Here's the story on the photo from the Associated Press.
Again, not cool. Not cool at all.

I agree, Michele. I feel that it is victimizing her twice. I saw some sites are justifying it by saying that "it will bring attention to domestic violence since Rihanna is a role model." No, I disagree. She's a role model in an entertaining sense, but it's her choice on whether she wants to be a voice for domestic violence.
I'm sickened this photo was made public.
