Thoughts on Octomom

I have really tried not to leave this one alone. I can't.

What is up with the crazy Octomom?

You know, Nadya Suleman, who was the first to give birth to the longest-surviving set of octuplets.

She is basically homeless, unemployed and had six kids BEFORE the eight new babies were born, for a whopping total of 14 children, all under the age of 11!

To add insult to injury - this woman is asking for donations online!

It's like these babies are some publicity stunt for her and the specialist who helped her have them. They are babies, you moron, not little cash cows!

Ok, perhaps I'm being ugly about things. I'm not a mom. I'm a devoted and doting aunt to three beautiful kids, Godmother to one and a general "mama bear"-type when it comes to protecting those I care about.

I would, however, hope that if I become a mother, and mom to more than one child that I would first have the means to support them.

And not have what appears to be a plastic surgery addiction.

At first, I was willing to give her a break. It's not easy being a single mother. Hell, sometimes it's not easy being a mom when you have help from a partner or husband.

But then more and more details came out about her life and the conditions her children live in.

It's not right.

What would possess her to have eight more babies when she is barely caring for the ones she has?

Should people help her? My concern would be that the donations would not be used properly and may end up being used to remove the lines from her forehead or lift up her breasts.

Any thoughts?
