No, they didn't

There's a new 'Drank' in town.

Yes, I did.

This new "anti-energy" drink is actually called, "Drank."

Like Perez Hilton, I'm assuming they were aiming at the hip hop culture's infamous phrases, "Let's get our drank on, Get your drank on, We got our drank on, etc."

I was just like, wow, when I saw this post about the new drink.

Again, wow.

Any thoughts on this new 'Drank?'

Food additives to avoid

I don't know what some of these are, but health experts are saying we should avoid them.

I'll take their word for it, and pass on to you this list of 12 additives in food we should all avoid.

Six most-fattening ice cream flavors

I knew one of my favorites would make the list.

I love Butter Pecan in every variation, from the Haagen-Das to the store brand.

Apparently, some varities of it are fattening. Who knew?

Another favorite for me is the carmel-laced ice cream at Friendly's, that I can't think of the name for, but I know is probably equally as sinful.

Damn those ice cream makers for using real milk and sugar.

Anywho, see if your favorite made the top six according to this list.

Too much, not enough sleep makes you a fatty

As usual, I'm confused.

Apparently, a new study says that if you get too little sleep, or you get too much sleep, you are more likely to be obese.

What if you do both at different times?

Some nights, I may get my full seven to eight hours. (And if I don't, co-workers beware.)

Others, I can barely get four or five hours because I stayed up to late reading. . . Yeah, that's what I was doing up late. . .

Anywho, now I know why I'm fat.

Thanks, new CDC study.

Here's the story on it.

Let me know what you guys think of this one.

I have a shower gel problem

Ask anyone who knows me well, or who has ever been in my bathroom - I have a shower gel problem.

It's OK, because they say the first step to getting help is admitting the problem.

At this point, there is no less than 10 shower gels in my shower area.

They are on the ledges on the corners of the tub.

They crowd the shower caddy that hangs over the shower head.

I've even got them on a small sill near the window.

Yep, I've got a problem.

"Skinny" coffee ads

Should women be offended that Starbucks is calling its new, cheaper coffee options, "skinny."

Apparently, some were.

Starbucks is offering more low-fat coffee and latte options, and have used the word, "skinny," in several ads and commercials.

According to this article, folks lit up the blogs and other online forums saying they were insulted by the new "skinny" ads.

I don't like coffee, so I don't really care.

However, I do enjoy a $3.28 venti cup of ice tea lemonade whenever I go shopping at Target.

Has anyone seen these ads or commercials?

Do any of you care?

I tried to find the commericials on YouTube and a few other video sites, but the search kept bringing up videos of Britney Spears' many trips to the coffee giant.

I wonder if she finds the ads offensive.

Someone should ask her.

Get up, you couch potato

In a stunning, "DUH"-type story, researchers who studied active and non-active twins found that those who work out look better and appear younger than folks who don't.

Shut up! Seriously?

Last time I was a the gym, I was on the cycle next to a woman who clearly worked out more than me.

This is going to come as a surprise, but she looked really young and healthy, despite being in her 40s (I asked her.).

No kidding. I was amazed by it, too.

So guys, here's the story on the study they needed to prove this one. Any thoughts?

To alli or not to alli?

With the new year starting, many of us have resolutions involving losing weight.

Your fat blogger is one of them.

As I mulled starting to diet, again, I wondered where I should go for help in losing weight.

I've tried Weight Watchers and other diets, but found them hard to stick to.

So, I'm thinking about trying alli, the new, over-the-counter weight-loss drug.

I've considered it before, and even wrote this blog post on the pill, which promises 50 percent more weight loss than dieting alone.

Needless to say, it made me have some concerns about alli and its side effects.

Do any of you know someone who has tried alli?

What do you think I should do?

Black women, cancer and diet

A poor diet could mean cancer for some black women, especially those in lower income brackets, a new study shows.

This is scary, because if you guys haven't noticed, I'm a black woman.

I think my diet is OK, but if it's poor, I could be at a higher risk for caner.

This story talks about the study.

From the story, I learned the five points of a healthy diet. They are:

1. adequate consumption of fruit and vegetables
2. low percentage of fat intake
3. consuming no alcohol
4. eating moderate calories and a
5. adhering to a U.S. government Healthy Eating Index, which measures overall quality of diet.

More paranoid than me

This letter to Dear Abby shows that I'm not the only one who thinks the coupon folks are part of the larger conspiracy against fat people.

She knows that the coupon people know she's packed on a little weight, and gave her a coupon for ice cream.

I'm paranoid, but not this paranoid.

This letter is, pretty funny, though.
