Hot hair and weight loss

| | Comments (0)

This just in from "Friends: The Salon" in York:

Several stylists and customers took the weight loss plunge together a few weeks ago and all seem to be succeeding!

Friends' owner Rhon Friend said the crew is using a herbal supplement that has really changed their lives and weights.

He estimates that at least 10 of the salon's customers and staff members, are succeeding on the plan. The salon is also selling the supplement at the shop at 101 N. Newberry Street in York.

On client, Aliecia Chin, lost 80 pounds with the bee pollen plan, and is shown here in her before and after photos.

So, here's a shout-out and a congrats going to the Friends salon folks for their weight-loss efforts, and wishing them the best of luck as they continue their work to be healthy.

To learn more about Friends, go to the salon's Web site at www.friendsthesalon.com.

(I've never taken the supplement, so I can't personally testify about it. If anyone tries it, let me know how it goes for you. I'll post your results here. I have, however, had my hair done there, and they do an excellent job.)

'Shopoholic' rocks

My new fav movie: "Confessions of a Shopaholic."

I went to see it this weekend with my shopping buddy, Nikki. We were so excited about it.

And Isla Fisher did not disappoint. She was awesome.

Like the rest of us, she enjoys fashion.

Ok, she REALLY enjoys fashion. So much so that she put her self in thousands of dollars in debt to have really cute outfits.

And she did have some super-cute clothes.

She could've been singing my song, or the song of any woman who uses shopping to soothe her troubled soul.

Who hasn't been out for a little "shopping therapy?"

Sometimes, a new pair of shoes can brighten even the darkest of days.

Such is the movie's main character's, Rebecca Bloomwood's, problem. Even when the sun is shining, she shops. When it rains - she shops. When it's cold outside. .. well, you get the idea.

Fisher is great at showing us shopping to the extreme, and it's a journey you can enjoy, especially if you've ever been there.

I haven't done this in a long time, but it needs to be done.

Guess what time it is?

That's right - It's peanut butter/jelly time!

Hello?

Where are you?

No suggestions.

Nothing from you guys. . .

I'm starting to feel a little unloved.

Actually, I'm swamped, so I haven't been the best blogger in the best few days. Maybe it's me.

So, I need to hear from you.

Let me know what you guys want to read about.

Barack Obama wins election

As reporters, we're not supposed to voice our political views.

Some believe it makes us less objective, and not able to tell both sides of some stories.

This is a historic election for our country. With that in mind, I can, however, show you this video.

Again, I can't tell you how I feel about this historic election, or who I supported.

Please don't ask.

Thanks for understanding my position.

Get out and vote

Hi everybody.

I wish I had more time today to tell you all the reasons you should vote.

I don't. It's Election Day, and I'm swamped at the newspaper today.

So, you know what you're supposed to do. It's your right and your duty as an American citizen.

Get out today and vote. All these folks are in line waiting to vote, and that's a beautiful thing.

Whoever you support, go out and vote for your favorite candidate.

Don't forget wear your "I Voted" sticker.

(And if you have a minute, pray that I make it through our day of around-the-clock Election Day coverage.)

Hello out there

Hi there, readers.

Your pleasantly plump blogger has been away for a bit, but I'm back.

I have not yet lost another pound.

I know it's because the pounds are fighting to stay with me.

I keep trying to tell them that we've enjoyed our time together (like when we ate the doughnuts that created the pounds), but it's time for them to go.

Mad props to my homey

I just wanted you guys to know that my diet partner, Amanda, is doing super on her diet.

In just a few weeks she's lost 20 - count that - 20 pounds!

We at Weighing In are so proud of my homey's achievement that she too gets the peanut butter jelly time treatment.

So, here's the video again, to celebrate my homey's weight loss.

Way to go, Amanda.

Keep up the good work.

Guess what popular blog celebrates its one-year anniversary this month?

(I'll help you out.)

It's mine!

On May 7, I celebrate 12 whole months of telling you my thoughts on dieting, food, clothing and pop culture.

Blogging is awesome.

To celebrate, I'll be doing some blog reruns (read: I'm too lazy to compose new ones), to let you see some of my early posts you may have missed.

Thanks to all of you, this blog gets more than 1,000 hits a month (That's right, ya'll. Tell your friends.)

So, you guys rock. Thanks for your support and your comments.

In November, you guys helped "Weighing In" become one of the most popular blogs on the ydr.com Web site.

(The newspaper also has a new Web design. If you get a chance, check it out.)

Each month, the pages of this blog get between 900 and 1,000 hits. It's one of our most popular pages, and it's all because of you.

I'm grateful to you for stopping by, reading this blog and sending me funny comments.

Please keep visiting, and tell your friends about this funny, fat-woman blog that you guys have made popular.

For being such great supporters, I'll have to name my first born, or next cat, after all of you.

Again, thanks for supporting me. I'll be back Monday with more fun and totally unrelated craziness.

You guys rock!

Thanks to everyone for visiting this blog regularly and making it a success. Because of you, "Weighing In" is one of the most popular features of the York Daily Record/York Sunday News' online community.

If I can brag a little, the blog has only been up for weeks, and it has had over 1,000 hits! In June, this blog and its entries made the top 20 as one of our most frequently viewed items.

"You like me. You really like me. . . "

Please help me keep this going. If you'll keep reading, I will keep writing about my weight-loss misadventures. Bookmark this page, and pass it on to anyone who needs a good laugh, or who is interested in fashion, dieting and weight loss.

Again, you guys rock. I wouldn't have been able to do this without your support.

And, no, I'm not going to have some cookies to celebrate (I do, however, have a deep affection for Chips Ahoy cookies). I might, however, have some yummy, delicious and filling salad.

That didn't even sound right.

Thanks, and y'all come back now, ya hear!
