Meet Ed Mahon, our new politics and government reporter. Ed started today, and we spent six hours throwing tons of information at him. (Yes, we’ve made the joke about the pop quiz tomorrow on people’s names …)
Here’s a bit of info about Ed:
College: La Salle University in Philadelphia
Previous papers/news organizations: I wrote about Delaware and Chester counties as a stringer for The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Neighbors section from February 2007 through August 2008. After that, I worked at the Centre Daily Times in State College, where I covered K-12 education and once chased an emu.
Hobbies: Tried biking this past summer, but I ended up in an emergency room, getting nine stitches on my chin. I’ve had fewer injuries with running, and I’m currently training for my second half marathon. Other than that, I like to read, play chess, and shoot video. I cook on Sundays.
Favorite quote (or some other random fact you don’t mind sharing):
“She knows there’s no success like failure. And that failure’s no success at all.” — Love Minus Zero / No Limit, Bob Dylan.
Also, I’m kind of a nerd. So I grew up obsessed with that Spider-Man quote about power and responsibility. You know the one.
