The new way (News & Brews) and the old (How to Get it Published) – we enjoy meeting the public

The York, Pa., Daily Record/Sunday News meets the public in many ways. Here’s a new one. The YDR’s News & Brews event last week was akin to speed dating. Sources met with our journalists for a brief period, and then each journalist moved on to the next table to meet a new group of folks.¬†“Fixing York” was an overarching theme for this downtown crowd and Brewvino’s.

“News & Brews,” a joint venture with WITF to meet the public, brought this story idea and many others.

The YDR is also rolling out another meet-the-reader idea – one we’ve been doing about 10 years.

It’s our next ‘How to Get it Published’ seminar. The venue is our newsroom conference room, not quite as winsome as Brewvino’s, but productive, indeed.

When we started this seminar, the event was largely devoted to insights about how get community events published in the newspaper. Now, we present on  both print and the array of online platforms operated by the YDR.

Here’s the skinny on the next ‘How to Get it Published,’ which is quickly filling up.

Let us help you get what’s important to you in the paper! Join us for our seminar June 18 at our office on Loucks Road. Bring your questions, and print out this information handout: http://bit.ly/1BKAUpq
