York County commissioners on Wednesday approved a $3,800 contract agreement with Orkin for the treatment of a bed bug infestation in the York County Prison work-release trailers.
York County officials said the contract includes prior work done, and it is not for a new bed bug infestation.
In October, the county furloughed about 90 male work-release inmates — who are minimum-security offenders — for 72 hours to exterminate bed bugs.
The contract commissioners approved Wednesday also includes a follow-up inspection, prior to the move to the county’s new work release center.
